lentil chili

i like chili...spicey and full of good things. i like to eat it spread over little tortillas, to cut it with a fork and knife! i cut small mouthsize pieces and slide it on to my knife and eat off my knife. Its a strange habit i suppose.

This one i took inspiration from this recipe and i did pretty much what the recipe called for. Except a few things... I used 1 whole cup of lentils, 2 different kinds. i used a tin of chickpeas, a tin of corn, a tin of tomatoes, 2 small tins of tomato paste and 1.5 bouillon blocks in my 600ml (or so) of water. simmered away for almost an hour, oh! cant forget the spices...just chili powder & cumin. the recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of chili powder and i have to say i would heap those tablespoons high or add 1 extra... but i guess thats something you need to do for your own personal taste. oh, and no green pepper. green pepper in chili? weird.

What's wrong with peppers? I can't believe you're so refined when eating them. I'd prefer the Hoover method of eating them :-D

I'm not a big fan of green peppers...red or yellow, that's where it's at for me :)

Num-num! It looks lovely! Looks like something I'd make if I didn't have a whiny meat lover in the house.

What kinds of lentils did you use? I love lentils, and I love chili, but I don't think I'd ever think of combining them. Thanks for the terrific idea!
